Guide for passengers
How do I follow my bus live on Wiredly?
When the operator shares a trip, you can watch the bus come to you. Wiredly isn’t in the app stores yet; this is how it will work at launch, city by city.
Step by step
Open the Live tab
Your trips for today appear on the Live tab. Tap one to follow that bus on its route. Search results also show a “Live” label when a bus is sharing its location.
Know when a bus is shown live
A bus is shown live only while its crew is tracking the trip and the operator has switched on sharing for it. The position comes from the crew’s phone on board; Wiredly does not need your location for this.
Read the timeline
You see the stops already passed, the stop the bus is near now and the next stop, plus “On time” or how many minutes late or early it is. Each stop shows its timetable time and, when it can be worked out, an estimated time. Estimates are always marked as estimates and can change.
If the signal drops
If no fresh position arrives for a short while, the app says Signal lost and hides the estimates, instead of showing an old position.
Follow a bus without a ticket
On any result, tap Stops to open the departure page. When the bus is on the road, Track this bus opens the live page without a ticket or an account.
Share my trip
Tap the share icon on your ticket or on the live page to send your bus and departure time to someone. It never shares your name, phone number, seats, ticket code or position.
Get alerts when your bus is nearComing soon
Place alerts, trip watches and a get-off alert before your stop are planned. They need notifications, which are not switched on yet.
Questions
Common questions.
Why can’t I see my bus live?
The crew may not be tracking the trip yet, or the operator has not switched on sharing for it. Sharing also stops when the trip ends.
How accurate are the arrival times?
Each stop shows its timetable time. Where Wiredly can estimate from the live position, it adds an estimate, clearly labelled, which can change.
Does live tracking use my location?
No. The bus position comes from the crew’s phone. The app uses your approximate location only if you ask for stops near you. See our Privacy Policy.
